On October 16-17 2010 NBC 30 will be having thier annual Health and Wellness Festival and Livestrong GHA has been invited to be a part of it. They have secured us one of thier booths for the weekend which will allow us to see thousands of people througout the weekend and spread the word of our efforts and the efforts of the LAF. This gives us an opportunity to reach people from all over the state that we would normally not have access to. I will be looking for volunteers to sit at the booth and hand out information and answer any questions. Please contact me if your interested.

Jokers of Doom Charity Picnic

On Saturday September 18, 2010 the Jokers of Doom Alumni Association is having a picnic to benefit Livestrong. The picnic starts at 12:00 pm and is at the Bristol Swedish Social Club located at 71 South Main St., Burlington Ct. The cost is $10 a ticket and includes food, drinks, games and raffles.

 

ING NYC Marathon

On November 7th, 2010 Livestrong GHA Leader Roger Levesque will be attempting to run the ING NYC 26.2 mile marathon as part of the national "Team LIVESTRONG" raising money for the Lance Armstrong foundation. As a group we must help him raise a minimum of $3,500 to secure his spot on one of the few reserved spaces at the marathon. You can donate to the marathon fund, all monies going to the LAF, by clicking on "Donate"  on the top of the home page. Thank you in advance for your support.

Livestrong Day 2010

For the 3rd year in a row LIVESTRONG Greater Hartford Area is hosting a night of Pick-Up In-Line (Roller) and Floor(Dek) hockey along with a bake sale, food and raffle, to raise awareness and funds for cancer. The event is once again taking place at Plainville Indoor Sports Arena, 161 Woodford Ave. Plainville Ct. 06062.   All players must have a hockey helmet, shin pads, elbow pads, gloves a stick and In-Line Skates if applicable.  All players under the age of 18 must have a full face shield or cage on their helmet. Please bring a light and dark colored jersey or shirt to play with if possible. Donations to play are $15 a player and if paid early will include a Livestrong Day 2010 T-Shirt. To register early for Pick-Up Hockey Game Fundraiser for Cancer and receive a free 2010 Livestrong Day T-Shirt you can stop by Plainville Indoor Sports Arena after Tuesday September 7th, pay your player fee of $15 and sign the registration form at the front desk or email me  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
