For the 3rd year in a row we have partnered up with the New Britain Rockcats for a Cancer Awareness Night at the stadium. Wednesday August 10, 2011 at 7:05 the Rockcats take on the Altoona Curve and cancer. Tickets are only $5 with half the proceedes going to LIVESTRONG GHA. The Greater Hartford Area Supporting LIVESTRONG has partnered with Newington Bicycle for their 7th Annual Metric Century Charity Ride, to be held on Sunday June 26, 2011. This event will be raising money for The Lance Armstrong Foundation and their fight against cancer. The participants of this event will have the option to ride 100, 84 or 40 km. Included with the registration will be an event t-shirt for registrations received before June 11th, pre and post ride meal, full rider support with food and drinks along the way. All proceeds go directly to The Lance Armstrong Foundation. The solicitation of sponsors for donations is encouraged and would be appreciated. On October 16-17 2010 NBC 30 will be having thier annual Health and Wellness Festival and Livestrong GHA has been invited to be a part of it. They have secured us one of thier booths for the weekend which will allow us to see thousands of people througout the weekend and spread the word of our efforts and the efforts of the LAF. This gives us an opportunity to reach people from all over the state that we would normally not have access to. I will be looking for volunteers to sit at the booth and hand out information and answer any questions. Please contact me if your interested.

On Saturday September 18, 2010 the Jokers of Doom Alumni Association is having a picnic to benefit Livestrong. The picnic starts at 12:00 pm and is at the Bristol Swedish Social Club located at 71 South Main St., Burlington Ct. The cost is $10 a ticket and includes food, drinks, games and raffles.
